Le Salon de Ti at Zazen is one of only five tea bars in the world, and the only one in Thailand, Le Salon de Ti is the brain child of Alex and Ti, the owners of this breathtaking resort set in splendid tropical gardens with sensational ocean views.  

When Alex and Ti designed this concept they found a tea company that matched their impeccable standards, The Dilmah Tea Company in Ceylon, a country famous for its tea.

Dilmah are the first producer owned tea brand in the world, their tea is handpicked, perfected and packed at source then shipped within days to tea drinkers around the world. This family run brand represents integrity, quality, commitment and passion that shone through during the fascinating talk that was given by Dilhan, the owner of Dilmah who had flown in from Sri Lanka for this very special occasion. The esteemed guest of honor was no less than the Sri Lankan Ambassador who appeared to be as enthralled by Dilhan’s speech as the other guests and the Mayor of Koh Samui was also in attendance.

Le Salon de Ti is on the second floor of a stunning teak building that overlooks the ocean and it certainly has the wow factor. Complete with Georgian furniture, white smoked glass chandeliers, polished wooden floors and a large sitting room area with a mock open fire, as well as an ultra modern kitchen, the salon is a stunning combination of traditional English style, opulence and class and is the perfect place to enjoy tea in breathtaking surroundings.

During the opening we enjoyed a delicious cocktail of rose and vanilla tea with champagne decorated with a delicate rose petal presented in a beautifully elegant champagne flute. Dilhan explained to us that to truly enjoy tea one must combine it with foods that compliment its textures flavors and components, a fact he proved by presenting a chamomile tea made from only the bud with a flawless apple tart, an Italian almond tea with a sumptuous crème brulee and a delicate Moroccan mint tea with a delicious chocolate gateaux. It was sensational and a real eye opener to the versatility of this amazing drink that is not only good for your health but drunk regularly prevents several diseases as well.
